970 284-5753 401054158 1 2016-05-27T00:00:00-06:00 0 0 true false false false false false false On May 17, 2016, approximately 10 barrels of produced water were released at the Wiedeman 29K-343 production facility when the wing nuts failed on a transporter truck. The released volume was immediately recovered using a vacuum truck and transported to a licensed disposal facility. No impacted soil was removed from location. On May 25, 2016, six confirmation soil samples (SS01 – SS06) were collected from the former release extent at approximately 1-2 inches below ground surface (bgs). Soil samples were field screened for volatile organic compound (VOC) concentrations using a photoionization detector (PID). Samples were submitted to Summit Scientific Laboratories in Golden, Colorado for analysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX), naphthalene, total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) – gasoline range organics (GRO) by USEPA Method 8260, TPH – diesel range organics (DRO) by USEPA Method 8015, pH and electrical conductivity (EC). Analytical results indicated organic compound concentrations and geochemical parameters were in compliance with COGCC Table 910-1 standards at all six soil sample locations. The release extent and soil sample locations are illustrated on Figure 2. Soil analytical data is summarized in Table 1 and the laboratory report is provided in Attachment A. Based on the soil analytical described herein, PDC is requesting a No Further Action (NFA) determination for this release.
