401047977 1 2016-05-16T00:00:00-06:00 1 0 true false false false false false false On March 13, 2016, approximately 5 barrels of produced water were released from a temporary storage tank within lined secondary containment. The released liquid was immediately recovered and transported to a licensed disposal facility. Approximately 50 cubic yards of impacted material were removed and transported to the Waste Management Facility in Ault, Colorado for disposal. On May 5, 2016, six confirmation surface soil samples (SS01 – SS06) were collected from the former secondary containment area and field screened for headspace volatile organic compound (VOC) concentrations using a photoionization detector (PID). Soil samples were submitted to Summit Scientific Laboratories in Golden, Colorado for analysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX), naphthalene, total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) – gasoline range organics (GRO) by USEPA Method 8260, TPH – diesel range organics (DRO) by USEPA Method 8015, pH and electrical conductivity (EC). Analytical results indicated organic compound concentrations and physical parameters were in compliance with COGCC Table 910-1 soil standards in all six soil sample locations. The excavation extent and soil sample locations are illustrated on Figure 2. Soil analytical data is summarized in Table 1 and the laboratory report is included as Attachment A. Based on the soil analytical data described herein, PDC is requesting a No Further Action (NFA) determination for this release.
