It is estimated that approximately 5.5 barrels were released when a load line valve on one of the production tanks froze and cracked. Based on the cold weather and hard ground, the material appears to have only seeped into the ground approximately 1 to 2 inches. No surface water or groundwater was impacted as a result of this release and the release was contained within the steel berm. 400805420 1 2015-03-09T00:00:00-06:00 1 0 true false false false false false false On March 1, 2015, approximately 5.5 barrels of produced water were released when a production tank load line valve froze at the Danielson 15G-HZ production facility. Approximately 2 cubic yards of impacted material were excavated and transported to the Waste Management Facility in Ault, Colorado for disposal under PDC waste manifests. On March 5, 2015, three confirmation soil samples (SS01 - SS03) were collected from the excavation extent at approximately 3 inches below ground surface (bgs). Soil samples were submitted to Summit Scientific Laboratories in Golden, Colorado for analysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX), naphthalene, and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) - gasoline range organics (GRO) by USEPA Method 8260B. In addition, samples were analyzed for TPH - diesel range organics (DRO) by USEPA Method 8015. Analytical results indicated constituent concentrations were below COGCC Table 910-1 soil standards in the three sample locations. Soil analytical results are summarized in Table 1 and the laboratory analytical report is included as Attachment A. The excavation extent and soil sample locations are illustrated on Figure 2. Based on soil analytical results described herein, impacts have been successfully mitigated and soils in the spill area meet COGCC Table 910-1 soil standards.
