During removal of the tanks and containment structure, historical impacts to the underlying soil were observed. The exact cause of the release and how it was stopped is unknown. However, the entire release is contained to a small area underneath the former tank battery containment structure. As the release is historical, none of the fluids lost were recovered. The impacted area below the former containment structure has been remediated to a depth of approximately 2 feet as noted above. A confirmation sample has been collected and analyzed for the full Table 910-1 analytical suite. The results indicate compliance with Table 910-1 standards. The excavated area will be backfilled with clean native material and the upgrade to the tank battery will be completed.
