Permit applications
BBC voluntarily agrees to the following fencing and netting Best
Management Practices for pits at these sites.
Ø
Minimum
three-strand fencing with no flagging or netting for active/operational
drilling pits and/or cutting pits with where locations are staffed 24-hours per
day.
Ø
Minimum
six-foot high fencing with flagging for active (fracturing/flowback operations
are ongoing) completion/water management pits and inactive cuttings pits
containing free liquids.
Ø
No
fencing or netting for inactive cuttings pits with free liquids removed.
Ø
Minimum
six-foot fencing with flagging and one-foot exclusionary fence (e.g. minimum
one-foot height silt fencing or fine mesh) along the base of the fence anchored
to the ground (not buried) for inactive pits that remain open no longer than
six months after on-site activities have ceased. For pits not closed
prior to six months, netting would also be installed.
