7/27/2019
Flowback and stimulation fluids from the wells being completed will be sent to tanks and/or filters to allow sand and sediment to settle out before the fluids are hauled to a state-approved disposal facility.

Long-term facility structures will be painted a color that enables the facilities to blend in with the natural background color of the landscape, as seen from a viewing distance and location typically used by the public. Maintain appearance with garbage clean-up; a trash bin will be located on site to accumulate waste by the personnel drilling the wells. Site will have unused equipment, trash and junk removed immediately.

A sediment trap/basin will be constructed to capture any sediment prior to leaving the location. The sediment trap/basin has been sized in accordance with good engineering practices. A temporary diversion, consisting of a cut swale and compacted earthen berm, will be constructed along the pad edge and routed to the sediment basin to prevent offsite migration of sediment/contaminant into the nearby surface water features.

Cat-tracking/equipment-tracking will be used as a temporary stabilization measure of the topsoil pile. Seed/mulch will be used as a permanent stabilization measure of the topsoil pile. Weed mitigation will be performed (mowing and/or spraying) on a routine basis per Bison’s seasonal schedule and on an ad-hoc basis when necessary. Routine inspection throughout the life of the pad will be used to identify when action is needed beyond the routine weed mitigation schedule. Topsoil stockpile construction BMPs include limiting stockpile height to ten feet and slopes of no greater than 3:1.

Stormwater management controls include, but are not limited to, the following: Structural erosion controls - Earthen berm, drainage swale, Culvert, Surface roughening, Hydro mulch/seeding, Mulching, Filtrexx, Rip-rap, Surface armor, Vehicle track pad, and sediment basin. Non-structural erosion controls include, but are not limited to, the following: Minimize disturbance footprint, Minimize soil compaction in reclaimed areas, Preserving vegetation, Protecting sensitive habitats, Proper site selection, Re-vegetation, Routine inspections, and Street sweeping.

During drilling and completions operations, a temporary impermeable synthetic or geosynthetic liner will be utilized under oil-based equipment. This liner will be installed on top of the plated surface and will provide an additional layer of protection against spills. Secondary containment devices, such as duck ponds or equivalent type products, will be used to protect any pipe connections or equipment that carry, mix, or could possibly leak fluids or chemicals.
