| Construction | Form: (02A ) 400715012 2/9/2015 | The following procedure describes BCEI standard construction practices for setting a partially buried pre-cast cement water vault and new tank battery construction.
1) The excavation will first be lined with 4” of clay or other low permeability soil.
2) A 30 mil liner will be installed on top of the low permeability soil. The 30 mil liner will be a contiguous liner which will underlay the entire tank battery.
3) The tank battery / water vault liner will be keyed into a galvanized steel containment ring installed surrounding the tank battery.
4) Sand bedding will be installed to protect the synthetic liner prior to placing equipment in the containment area.

| Drilling/Completion Operations | Form: (02A ) 400715012 2/9/2015 | Bonanza Creek Energy acknowledges and will comply with the “COGCC Policy On the Use of Modular Large Volume Tanks in Colorado” dated June 13, 2014 |
| Material Handling and Spill Prevention | Form: (02A ) 401883718 6/27/2019 | Well Pad Construction – Bonanza Creek constructs its locations with a compacted road base surface. This surface is at least 4 inches thick and compacted to prevent surface degradation from drilling and production activity and traffic. This layer of road base protects shallow groundwater by containing liquids and preventing vertical migration of a potential spill. |
| Material Handling and Spill Prevention | Form: (02A ) 401883718 6/27/2019 | Tank Battery Containment –To protect shallow groundwater, the existing produced fluid storage and any new storage will be constructed within lined containment. |
| Material Handling and Spill Prevention | Form: (02A ) 401883718 6/27/2019 | Tank Battery Storage in excess of 5,200 bbls – This location is being constructed as a central production facility. Multiple well pads will produce to this tank battery. Even though there is storage in excess of 5,200 bbls, the produced fluids will be transported off-site through a gathering system and will have limited truck traffic. This will minimize traffic associated with the increased storage volume at the location. |
| Material Handling and Spill Prevention | Form: (02A ) 401883718 6/27/2019 | Separation Equipment Containment - All produced fluids will be routed to separation equipment. To protect shallow groundwater, Bonanza Creek uses separators with built-in containment. |
| Material Handling and Spill Prevention | Form: (02A ) 401883718 6/27/2019 | Bonanza has designed the centralized production facilities in a manner that allows for both consolidation of production facilities and minimal use of pipelines between the Locations. Bonanza Creek typically utilizes four pipelines (Oil, water, gas, gas lift) running from the well Location to the Centralized Production Facilities. This both optimizes the area necessary for pipelines within the Right-of-Way and reduces the potential for a release along the pipelines. In addition, Bonanza Creek constructs thrust blocks around all 90 degree riser joints to limit movement along the pipeline and further reduce the potential for a release from the pipeline.
Please note that all pipelines are currently installed at this location. We do not have current plans for new installations. |
| Material Handling and Spill Prevention | Form: (02A ) 401883718 6/27/2019 | Leak Detection Plan:
Bonanza Creek personnel are on location daily conducting routine operations and maintenance activity. If any leaks were to occur on site, they would be quickly identified by Bonanza Creek personnel. Bonanza Creek utilizes SCADA information systems that have the ability to remotely monitor production tank levels onsite and activate specific valves, which can stop a release on location. In addition to daily operations and maintenance performed at the location, Bonanza Creek conducts required inspections for SPCC, Stormwater, and LDAR compliance. |
| Material Handling and Spill Prevention | Form: (02A ) 401883718 6/27/2019 | Bonanza Creek will use jersey barriers to protect the integrity of the produced water pipeline riser. |
