06/24/2014 | 1) Soil to be landfarmed must be spread out over compacted, low permeability soil (or over a liner if soil is farily sandy);
2) The landfarmed area (cell(s)) must be bermed (stormwater management practice);
3) Contaminated media shall be treated in lifts that are up to 18 inches thick;
4) Landfarmed material should be watered and tilled regularly to promote bacterias growth and bioremediation;
5) Confirmation composite samples will be taken to assess if landfarmed material complies with Table 910-1 and is ready for backfilling or beneficial use. Composite samples should be taken from a grid and be statistically representative of the material in the cell(s).
6) Report to COGCC when landfarming operation is complete and indicate final disposition of landfarmed material. |

If it is determined that a specific BMP is insufficient to mitigate degradation on a site, cannot be implemented per installation specification, or maintained in effective operating condition, then alternative BMPs that are better suited to meet the site's conditions should be considered and immediately applied, or used in conjunction. |
