Wildlife Mitigation Plan Area-Wide Measures • XTO plans to continue and expand its aggressive produced water management plan to include a produced water gathering and distribution system covering the core development area. The use and recycling of produced water minimizes the environmental footprint (traffic and emissions) by reducing water trucking. • XTO will continue use of low emission, tier 2 powered drilling rigs until its planned conversion to gas fired electrification. The engines on these rigs significantly reduce emissions. • XTO will reclaim pipeline rights-of-way as soon as practicable after installation of pipe in order to avoid long-term impact.

Surface Water Protection • XTO will use a portable containment liner under the substructure of the drilling rig during drilling activities. • XTO will use water/fluid dust suppression application, speed restrictions, and regular road maintenance to prevent fugitive dust emissions from coating of vegetation and deposition in surface water sources. • All structures that hold or transfer fluids will have corrugated steel (or equivalent) berming and tied into poly liners (or equivalent) as secondary containment. • Flowback and stimulation fluids will be sent to enclosed tanks, separators, or other containment or filtering equipment before the fluids are placed into the offsite (take away) pipeline; no open top tanks can be used for initial flowback fluids containment; and secondary containment for flowback storage tanks will meet the requirements of Rule 906.d.(1). • The wells onsite will be equipped with remote shut-in capabilities prior to commencing production; remote shut-in capabilities include the ability to shut-in the well remotely via automation controls; remote monitoring and shutdown capabilities will include automatic shutdown pressure devices installed on process vessels.

Drill Cuttings Management • The moisture content of all drill cuttings managed onsite shall be kept as low as practicable to prevent accumulation of liquids greater than de minimis amounts. • All salt-based mud (SBM)- and oil-based mud (OBM)-generated cuttings must be segregated from water/bentonite-based mud (WBM)-generated cuttings and managed separately on the well pad. • All SBM- and OBM cuttings generated during drilling must be kept in tanks or containers, or placed in a bermed portion of the well pad prior to disposition. The surface where the cuttings will be placed shall be constructed to be sufficiently impervious (or lined) to keep any material from migrating into the subsurface. • After drilling and completion operations have been completed, any of the water-based mud (WBM) drill cuttings that will remain on the well pad location (surface dry cuttings in the cut portion of the pad), must meet the applicable standards of Table 910- 1. • The trucks used for offsite disposal of SBM-generated drill cuttings must have a liner and the operator must implement measures (covers, misting, etc.) to reduce dust and PM emissions during transport from the well site to the commercial disposal facility.
