| On 11/17/2023 at 11:00 am MT, a water truck driver (M&R Trucking) was offloading produced water in the offload bay and failed to close the drain valve on the filter pot. Upon commencing the offload process, the driver left the immediate area to sit in his truck while the offload was underway. After exiting his truck to check on the offload, the driver observed the filter pot to have filled up completely and fluids were spilled to the ground surface near the offload bay. Following this discovery, the driver shut off the pump and removed all fluids from the sump to prevent additional fluids from spilling over. The total volume of spilled fluids amounted to 4.56 bbls produced water and did not migrate off Hilcorp's pad surface. Although the fluids remained on the pad surface, the fluids were outside of secondary containment. The visibly-impacted pad material was removed via hydro-vac on 11/18/2023. |
