| Fluids within the 12" gas pipeline (Line ID 464247) daylighted within the pipeline ROW, approximately 25-30 feet off the northeast edge of the GV 5-33 near the entrance. Fluids ran downgradient for approximately 135 feet, stopped ~45-50 feet from the bar ditch along the access road. Upon discovery, the pipeline was immediately shut down, isolated, and blown dead to remove any remaining fluids within the pipeline. Hydro-vac truck equipment was utilize to begin recovering the pooled fluids around the point of release, as well as pothole downward to locate the compromised section of line. The leaking section of pipeline will be repaired along with impacted soils around the point of release and within the downgradient flow path will be remediated. Confirmation samples will be collected to ensure soils comply with ECMC Table 915-1. |
