if work proceeding under an approved Form 27: | N/A | | | | Spill Description: | | The spill was discovered at ~3:30 p.m. on August 4, 2025, during a routine site inspection by an ECMC Field Inspector. The inspector immediately notified TEP of the spill, and TEP responded immediately to the scene and shut in the well and associated separator. The source of the spill was stopped within 1-hour of discovery. The cause of the spill was found to be a pin-hole leak located on a 1-inch carbon steel dump-line that was caused by internal corrosion within the dump line. Soil impacts were limited to a small area located on the south side of the separator. All fluids remained on location; there were no off-site impacts. The defective dump-line has been replaced and TEP has excavated the impacted soils associated with this incident. All contaminated soils have been taken to an offsite commercial disposal facility for final treatment and disposal. TEP will collect confirmation soil samples to confirm that ECMC Table 915-1 cleanup standards have been met. | | |
