if work proceeding under an approved Form 27: | 40355 | | | | Spill Description: | | On July 9, 2025, Willow Bend LD Pad 18-36HN-2 tank battery decommissioning activities were completed. During the completion of the activities, no potential presence of impacted material(s) was observed/smelled. Consistent with Rule 912, samples were collected and analyzed to determine whether any constituents are present at levels in excess of Table 915-1 standards. Final laboratory analytical results received on July 23, 2025, indicate that soil sample, AST01 through AST15 (15 samples) discovered at beneath the aboveground storage tanks in the same excavation, exceeded ECMC Table 915 standards for benzo(a)anthracene with a high value of 0.0665 mg/kg and low value of 0.0146 mg/kg for the 15 samples. These 15 samples are considered one release due to the close proximity and being from the surface. Groundwater was not encountered during resampling activities. This location is within 300 ft of waters of the state and is within the municipality of Thornton.
