if work proceeding under an approved Form 27: | N/A | | | | Spill Description: | | On June 11, 2025, TEP personnel discovered that a main inlet valve at the Boies Ranch B19N SWD Tank Battery was malfunctioning and not closing by remote command. The production tech immediately called for a contractor in the area to respond to the location and manually close a main ball valve to cut flow to the tank battery. Upon arrival at the location, it was discovered that the tanks were overfilling due to the valve malfunction. Produced water over-filled the tanks and the lined metal secondary containment structure, and were spilling onto the pad surface. Flow was finally stopped and vac-trucks were immediately dispatched to the location to begin recovery of fluids from the pad surface and the containment structure. The total volume of the release is estimated to be 1,150 bbls. Approximately 1,100 bbls were recovered from the containment structure with the remaining volume being recovered from the small pools of water that accumulated in low spots on the pad. | | |
