Spill Description: |
At approximately 10:30am on 2/19/2025 a third party water hauler attempted to haul a load of water from the production water tanks. The driver connected his house to the load out line and opened the valves to start loading water. he discovered the load line was froze disconnected his hose and out of human error did not isolate the tank. As the day warmed up the load line thawed causing the release of production water into containment. There was a failure on the spray in seam causing produced water to leak onto pad. At 1:30pm on 2/19/2025 a third party Lact Technician entered location and witnessed water leaking onto pad. He immediately isolated/closed the open valve to stop the active leak. He then reported to Verdad and clean up efforts commenced. A Vac truck was dispatched to clean up all free standing fluids and a roustabout crew was dispatched to clean up contaminated soil. 50bbls was released according to tank gauges, 40bbls were recovered from inside containment 10bbls outside. |
