if work proceeding under an approved Form 27: | N/A | | | | Spill Description: | | Northern Colorado Constructors (NCC) was excavating a ditch and struck the flowline. NCC immediately called the Fort Lupton Fire Department and created a dam in the ditch to stop the spread of contaminated liquid from the northern portion of the ditch. The Fort Lupton Fire Department notified KPK of the release. The ditch filled with water from Big Dry Creek that runs parallel to the ditch under construction, approximately 10 feet to the west. KPK crews arrived on site, closed the pipeline valves, blew down the lines, used two vac trucks to skim the oil from the surface of the ditch. The oil was temporarily transferred to frac tanks. KPK installed booms along the ditch to prevent migration of oil during skimming activities. | | |
