if work proceeding under an approved Form 27: | 31776 | | | | Spill Description: | | On June 5, 2023, KPK identified a gas release along the Facility 9 Consolidation Line (K Section) after responding to a landowner inquiry about stained soil in his plowed field. This sales gas flowline runs south from the UPRR 42 Pan Am K tank battery. The release location is in the SESW Sec 17 T2N, R66W. The sales gas line has been shut-in and the surface stained soils have been scraped and piled on site. The wet field conditions have halted further excavation at this time. We will investigate the leak and repair the line as soon as the field is accessible. The cause of the release is unknown at this time but is suspected to be corrosion in steel sales gas line. | | |
