if work proceeding under an approved Form 27: | N/A | | | | Spill Description: | | A release of approximately 30 bbls of produced water was discovered by a work-over rig working at the RGU 23-6-297 facility in the early morning hours of 12/12/22. Production personnel were notified and responded to the incident and discovered that a mechanical seal on a charge pump had failed inside of the pump house. The produced water ran out of the pump house and collected in depressions around the structure and also in low areas across the access road (south-east from the pump house). All pumping operations at the production tank battery were immediately shut down and repairs to the pump are being made today. A vac truck responded to the incident and was able to recover ~15 bbls of produced water. The root cause of the incident is equipment failure due to a bad seal on the charge pump. There were no off-site impacts as a result of this incident. Soil samples will be collected to determine if impacted area exceeds Table 915-1 standards and if additional cleanup is needed. | | |
