if work proceeding under an approved Form 27: | 18430 | | | | Spill Description: | | Pumper discovered condensate inside the lined, metal secondary containment structure. The root cause of the release is internal corrosion of a 300-bbl condensate storage tank. A vac-truck was immediately dispatched to the location and has recovered approximately 88 bbls of condensate and storm water from the containment structure. Upon further investigation of the exterior of the secondary containment structure, it was discovered that ~ 2bbls of condensate / storm water also leaked out of the northwest corner of the containment structure. The liner leaked at this location due to a failed patch that was found on the bottom of the west sidewall in the corner of the containment. The tank battery and containment structure will be reconfigured and reduced from 4 to 2 tanks at this location, and the old containment structure will be replaced with a new metal, lined system. All contaminated soils will be identified, cleaned up, and disposed at an approved off-site disposal facility. | | |
