if work proceeding under an approved Form 27: | N/A | | | | Spill Description: | | Production personnel discovered a small hole in the base of a condensate tank on 8/02/19. The hole is believed to have been caused by internal corrosion of the tank. Equipment failure is the primary cause of the spill. Production personnel estimated that up to 50 bbls of condensate were released inside the earthen secondary containment structure. The production fluids consisted mostly of condendsate (80%) and production water (20%). There were no fluids to recover from within the containment structure. There was no evidence that any of the fluids escaped the berms of the containment. The tanks and associated piping from the containment have been removed, and the earthen secondary containment structure will be replaced with a new metal, lined containment structure. Due to negligible production volumes, the TEP condensate tank will be removed from service. Contaminated soils are being transported to an approved off-site, commercial disposal facility for final disposal. | | |
