if work proceeding under an approved Form 27: | 9264 | | | | Spill Description: | | On July 1, 2015, historical impacts were discovered beneath the produced water sump during closure activities at the Platteville 63N66W/19SWSW production facility. Groundwater was encountered in the excavation at approximately 6 feet below ground surface (bgs). Approximately 80 barrels of impacted groundwater were removed via vacuum truck and transported to a licensed injection facility for disposal. A groundwater sample (GW01) was subsequently collected from the excavation and submitted to Origins Laboratory in Denver, Colorado for analysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) by USEPA Method 8260B. Analytical results indicated that benzene and toluene concentrations in groundwater sample GW01 were above the applicable COGCC Table 910-1 groundwater standards.
