if work proceeding under an approved Form 27: | N/A | | | | Spill Description: | | On the morning of 12/16, a GRMR representative arrived on location to check tanks and discovered that the fire tube gasket on the treater of Deal Gulch 6-16 had failed, releasing approximately 6 barrels of crude. Three barrels were captured by the terater's containment and 3 barrels contacted ground on the pad surface. The well was immediately shut in and the treater was shut down. Free product was removed from the ground surface and from inside the treater containment using a vacuum truck and was transfered to crude tanks on location. The treater was cleaned to remove residual crude. No emergency pits were constructed. Based on visual observations, it was determined that no more than a 10 foot x 20 foot area of ground surface had been impacted by the release. Once the weather permits, impacted soils will be excavated and removed to the Beaver Durham 12-32 pad for remediation and confirmation soil samples will be collected for Form 910-1 parameters. | | |
