| Comment: | On July 21, 2009, a line was improperly isolated during pumping activities, resulting in a ruptured hose fitting and the release of 30 bbls of produced water. Upon discovery, the flow was stopped immediately and the free water was removed by a vacuum truck and put back into the system for reuse. The spill began on the lowe pad, south of the access road, and migrated through a culvert and down a ditch. The location where the spill occurred is where the tank battery, pumps and other equipment associated with the Specialty SWD are located. In this case, none of the equipment accessory to the SWD well is located on the pad with the well. The pit that is shown on 2009 aerial photos was closed several months ago as part of our effort to consolidate pits and get all of the long-term multi-well pits permitted with the COGCC. 6/28/11 AFISCHER |
