| IN THE MATTER OF THE PROMULGATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF FIELD RULES TO GOVERN OPERATIONS IN THE RAMROD FIELD, LOGAN COUNTY, COLORADO | Cause No. 302 Order No. 302-2 |
REPORT OF THE COMMISSION
This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on January 16, 1978 at 9 A.M., in Room 110, State Centennial Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Petroleum, Inc. for an order authorizing the conversion of the No. 1 Antelope-Federal well to a water injection well and further, to convert or drill such other wells, for injection purposes as may be necessary for the operation of the Ramrod Unit Area.
FINDINGS
The Commission finds as follows:
1., That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.
2. That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.
3. That on October 21, 1975, the Commission issued its Order No. 302-1 which approved a Unit Agreement and Unit Operating Agreement for the Ramrod J-2 Sand Unit Area and in addition approved a waterflood project and authorized the injection of water through Well No. 2 Nelson "N", located in the SW/4SW/4 Section 28, Township 12 North, Range 55 West, 6th P.M.
4. That water injected into said Well No. 2 Nelson "N" has not been effective to the secondary recovery project due to communication to a lower zone; there-fore, an alternate injection well, the No. 1 Antelope-Federal located in the SW/4SE/4 Section 28, Township 12 North, Range 55 West, 6th P.M., should be allowed to be con-verted to an injection well and in addition, the operator should be authorized to convert or drill such additional wells within the unit area for purposes of water injection as may be necessary and desirable for maximum ultimate secondary recovery from the unit.
ORDER
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the operator of the Ramrod "J-2" Sand Unit is hereby authorized to convert Well No. 1 Antelope-Federal (unit designation Well No. 1-1), located in the SW/4SE/4 Section 28, Township 12 North, Range 55 West, 6th P.M. to a water injection well, and in addition, the operator is authorized to convert any such other wells or drill such additional wells within the unit area as may deem appropriate to constitute water injection wells for the purpose of water injection as may be necessary and desirable for maximum secondary recovery from the "J-2" Sand reservoir of the Ramrod Unit Area.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above order.
ORDERED this 16th day of January, 1978.
