IN THE MATTER OF THE PROMULGATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF FIELD RULES TO GOVERN OPERATIONS IN THE LITTLE BEAVER FIELD, WASHINGTON AND ADAMS COUNTIES, COLORADO |
) ) ) ) |
CAUSE NO. 30
ORDER NO. 30-20 |
REPORT OF THE COMMISSION
This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on October 15, 1963, at 10 a.m., in Room 132, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of the Monsanto Chemical Company for an order enlarging the Little Beaver "J" Sand Field, as previously defined in Order No. 30-18, to include the W˝W˝ of Section 29, and W˝W˝ of Section 32, Township 1 South, Range 56 West, 6th P.M., Washington County, Colorado; and for an order establishing 160-acre drilling and spacing units for production of gas from said "J" sand formation; permitting a combination of contiguous, cornering, or adjoining drilling units into compact blocks or tracts not to exceed 640 acres, with allowables for such combined units to be produced from one gas well; and establishing a maximum rate of gas production, with allocation of said allowable production among and to the aforesaid drilling and spacing units on an equitable basis.
FINDINGS
The Commission finds as follows:
1. That the notice of the time, place, and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.
2. That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested thereby, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.
3. That all operators present at the hearing felt that negotiations for unitization of the gas portion of the Little Beaver "J" sand reservoir might currently be successful.
4. That the unitization of the gas portion of the "J" sand reservoir of the Little Beaver Field would result in the maximum recovery of reservoir fluids without waste, and that hearing on the application of Monsanto Chemical Company should be continued to allow for such negotiations.
5. That in order to prevent further complications in operations of the "J" sand reservoir of the Little Beaver Field, no additional wells should be drilled and produced from said reservoir until after the continued hearing.
ORDER
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that no additional wells may be drilled for production of oil or gas in the "J" sand reservoir underlying the Little Beaver Field until after December 3, 1963; and that hearing in the above entitled matter which was originally set for October 15, 1963, on the application of the Monsanto Chemical Company, will be continued to December 3, 1963, at 10 a.m., in Room 330, State Office Building, Colfax Avenue and Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend, or repeal the above order.
ORDERED this 15th day of October 1963.
