CAUSE NO. 26

ORDER NO. 26-38

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on January 28, 1958, at 10 a.m., in the Game Room of the Albany Hotel, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by statute, and mailing of copies of application pursuant to the regulations of this Commission, on the application of The Pure Oil Company, as Operator of the Adena "J" Sand Unit, requesting an order permitting Applicant to drill or recomplete on said Unit certain water injection wells lying within one mile of tracts lying outside of said Adena "J" Sand Unit.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law, and that all prerequisites to the granting hereof have been performed.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That pressure maintenance operations in the Adena "J" Sand Unit by drilling a line of water injection wells between the oil and gas zones has been commenced by the Unit Operator pursuant to Order No. 26-34.

4.      That such operations should be continued to completion in order to minimize waste of oil and gas in said field, and that the drilling or recompletion and operation of the injection wells numbered W-1 to W-7 and W-24 to W-32, all inclusive, as reflected in Applicant's Exhibit "A" in this cause, is essential for such purposes.

5.      That each of said wells is located on the Unit within one mile of certain tracts outside the Unit, but that pressure maintenance by injection of water in such wells, according to the expert testimony presented, will not adversely affect the correlative rights of any owner outside of said Unit.

6.      That the use and operation of said wells as water injection wells will increase the ultimate recovery of oil and gas from said pool and prevent waste.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that Applicant here in, as Operator of the Adena "J" Sand Unit, is hereby permitted and authorized to drill new wells or recomplete old wells for injection of water in order to extend pressure maintenance operations in the "J" sand by the injection of water into said wells, being Wells No. W-1 to W-7 and W-24 to W-32, all inclusive.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that all other rules set out in Order No. 26-34 shall be applicable to the use and operations of said wells.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, a. mend or repeal any and/or all. of the above provisions.

ORDERED this 4th day of February, 1958.
