IN THE MATTER OF THE PROMULGATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF FIELD RULES TO GOVERN OPERATIONS IN THE SOONER FIELD, WELD COUNTY, COLORADO |
) ) ) ) |
CAUSE NO. 230
ORDER NO. 230-4 |
REPORT OF THE COMMISSION
This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on November 16, 1981 at 9:00 a.m., in Room 110, State Centennial Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, as the result of Order No. 230-3 in which it was requested that operators in the spaced area of the Sooner Field appear and present data in order for the Commission to make the proper determination concerning spacing and field rules.
FINDINGS
The Commission finds as follows:
1. Due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.
2. The Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.
3. On October 20, 1970, the Commission issued Order No. 230-1 which established 320-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of gas from the "D" Sand underlying certain lands in the Sooner Field. On July 20, 1981, Order No. 230-3 was issued which ordered no flaring of gas from wells in the field and, among other things, placed a limitation of production on four (4) specific wells. In addition, it was requested that an additional hearing would be held in order to obtain additional data concerning proper field rules.
4. Insufficient evidence was submitted at the hearing to determine, at this time, the most efficient production practice for the field, and operators should present additional data at the hearing scheduled for June, 1982 in order for the Commission to determine this matter.
5. Evidence presented at the hearing indicates that in order to prevent waste, as that term is defined in the Oil and Gas Conservation Act, and until such time as the scheduled June, 1982 hearing date, the maximum daily production of oil or gas from any one well in the spaced area of the Sooner Field producing from the "D" Sand should not exceed 14 barrels of oil or 200 MCF [sic] of gas, whichever is first reached.
ORDER
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the maximum daily production of oil or gas from any one (1) well producing from the "D" Sand underlying the Sooner Field, herein described, shall not exceed 14 barrels of oil or 200 MCF of gas, whichever is first reached.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that a hearing shall be held in June, 1982, at which time the operators in the Sooner Field are hereby requested to present additional data in order for the Commission to determine what field rules should be adopted for the production of oil and gas from said field.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the provisions confined in the above order shall become effective forthwith.
ENTERED this 15th day of December 1981, as of November 16, 1981.
