ORDER NO. 214-4

 

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

 

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on May 21, 1984 at 9:00 a.m., in Room 110, State Centennial Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Inexco Oil Co., for an order authorizing the drilling of an additional well for the production of oil from the Mississippian, in the drilling and spacing units consisting of Lots 4 and 5 (W1/2NW1/4) Section 12, Township 16 South, Range 45 West, 6th P.M.

 

FINDINGS

 

The Commission finds as follows:

 

1.      Inexco Oil Company, as applicant herein, is an interested party in the subject matter of the above-referenced hearing.

 

2.      Due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

 

3.      The Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

 

4.      On May 20, 1969, the Commission issued Order No. 214-1 which established 80-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of oil from the Mississippian underlying lands in the Golden Spike Field.  The units are the W1/2 and E1/2 of each quarter section with the permitted well located in the center of the NE1/4 and SW1/4 of each quarter section.

 

5.      A well, the No. 5 Lowe, has been drilled and completed for production from the Mississippian at a location in Lot 5 (SW1/4NW1/4) Section 12, Township 16 South, Range 45 West, 6th P.M., and is the permitted well for the unit consisting of the W1/2 NW1/4 of said Section 12.

 

6.      Testimony presented at the hearing indicates that one well will not adequately and efficiently drain the oil from the Mississippian underlying the 80-acre drilling and spacing unit; therefore, an additional well, No. 8-12 Lowe, should be allowed to be drilled at a location in the approximate center of Lot 4 (NW1/4NW1/4) Section 12, Township 16 South, Range 45 West, 6th P.M.

 

7.      No objection to the application was received.


 

ORDER

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that an additional well for the production of oil from the Mississippian is hereby authorized to be drilled in the drilling and spacing unit consisting of the E1/2NW1/4 Section 12, Township 16 South, Range 45 West, 6th P.M., Golden Spike Field, Cheyenne County, Colorado, and that said well be located in the approximate center of the Lot 4 (NW1/4NW1/4) of said Section 12.

 

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the provisions contained in the above order shall become effective forthwith.
