IN THE MATTER OF THE INVESTIGATION TO TAKE MEASURES TO PREVENT WASTE OF OIL AND GAS IN THE BADGER CREEK FIELD, ADAMS COUNTY COLORADO	) ) ) )	CAUSE NO. 21 ORDER NO. 21-6

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on August 18, 1959, 10:00 a.m. in the Game Room of the Albany Hotel, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing' as required by law, on the application of the Forest Oil Corporation for an order permitting applicant to continue pressure maintenance operations approved by the Commission in its Order No. 21-4, in the "D" sand reservoir of the Badger Creek Field, by converting four producing wells to water injection wells; and by not converting Well #12 in the NE/4 NW/4 NW/4 of Section 23 to an injection well, as previously proposed; and for such other and further relief as the Commission may direct.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That pressure maintenance operations in the Badger Creek Field, "D" sand, should be continued to completion in order to minimize waste of oil and gas in said field; and that the conversion of the four producing wells to water injection wells, as requested by Applicant, is essential for such purposes; and that Well No. 12 in the NE¼ NW¼ NW¼ of Section 23, should not be converted to a water injection well, as previously proposed.

4.      That the use and operation of said wells as water injection wells will increase the ultimate recovery of oil and gas from said pool and prevent waste.          

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the Forest Oil Corporation is hereby permitted and authorized to convert the following producing wells to water injection wells in order to extend pressure maintenance operations in the "D" sand of the Badger Creek Field:

Township 2 South, Range 57 West, 6th P.M.

Well No. 2 in the SW¼ SE¼ NW¼ of Section 23

Well No. 3 in the SW¼ NE¼ SW¼ of Section 23

Well No. 5 in the SW¼ SW¼ NW¼ of Section 23

Well No. 7 in the SW¼ NE¼ NW¼ of Section 23

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal the above order.
