CAUSE NO. 21

ORDER NO. 21-4

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on June 17, 1958, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 330 State Office Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of the Sinclair Oil and Gas Company and the Forest Oil Corporation for an order approving a pressure maintenance program of water injection in, the "D" sand reservoir of the Badger Creek Field, Adams County, Colorado.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required, by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That Applicants own and operate oil and gas leases covering the major portion of the Badger Creek Field, as set forth in their petition; and that the "D" and formation constitutes a common source of supply of oil and gas underlying said area in. Adams County Colorado, defined as follows:

W/2 of Section 23., SW/4 of Section 14, SE/4 of Section 15, all of Section 22, and N/2 of Section. 27, Township 2 South, Range 57 West, 6th P.M., Adams County, Colorado.

4.      That Applicants have entered into an agreement providing for joint operations of said properties.

5,      That the proposed plan of operations establishing a program of pressure maintenance by water injection in the above area, as presented by Applicants, will increase the ultimate recovery of oil and gas from said area, and should therefore be approved as being in the public interest for conservation,

6.      That avoidable waste of oil and gas will be prevented by the operations proposed by Applicants, and the correlative rights of all parties in the Badger Creek area, as herein defined, will not be adversely affected and will be reasonably protected under such a plan of operation, and that in the interest of securing the greatest ultimate recovery of oil and gas from said pool, and the prevention of waste and protection of correlative rights, this application should be granted.

ORDERED this 17th day of June, 1958.
