ORDER NO. 188-6

 

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

 

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on February 20, 1968, at 10 a.m., in Conference Room 260, Columbine Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing, as required by law, on the application of the Fremont Petroleum Company and W. C. McBride, for an order extending the field limits of the Brandon Field, the additional area to be covered by the provisions of Order No. 188-1 and Order No. 188-3.

 

FINDINGS

 

The Commission finds as follows:

 

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

 

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested thereto, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

 

3.      That on October 19, 1965 the Commission issued its Order No. 188-1 which, among other things, established 80-acre drilling units for the production of oil and gas from the Mississippian formation, with the permitted well to be located in the center of the NE¼ and SW¼ of each quarter section: and that Order No. 188-8 was issued May 22, 1967, which order provides, among other things, that production from the Mississippian formation shall be limited to 150 barrels of oil per well per day.

 

4.      That geological testimony presented at the hearing indicates that the Mississippian formation constitutes a common source of supply of oil and gas underlying, in addition to the area set forth in Order No. 188-1, the following described lands in Kiowa County, Colorado to-wit:

5.      That the above described area is potentially productive of oil from said Mississippian formation, and should be subject to the provisions of said Order No. 188-1 and Order No. 188-3.

 

ORDER

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the area set forth in Finding 4 herein shall be subject to the provisions of Order No. 188-1 and Order No. 188-3, and the Brandon Field shall henceforth include the following described lands in Kiowa County, Colorado, to-wit:

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the Commission expressly reserves its right, after notice and hearing, to alter, amend or repeal any and/or all of the above rules and regulations.
