CAUSE NO. 188

ORDER NO. 188-17

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on November 21, 1972, at 9 a.m., in Room 132, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after giving Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Inexco Oil Company, for an order authorizing the drilling of additional wells for certain drilling and spacing units in the Brandon Field, Kiowa County, Colorado.

FINDINGS

The Commission finds as follows:

1.      That due notice of the time, place, and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

3.      That on October 19, 1965, the Commission issued its Order No. 188-1 which among other things, established 80-acre drilling and spacing units for the production of oil from the Mississippian, each drilling unit being the W½ or E½ of each quarter section and the permitted well for each such drilling unit being located in the center of the NE¼ and SW¼ of each quarter section, with a tolerance of 150 feet in any direction. The spaced area was extended by Order No. 188-6 on February 20, 1968.

4. That evidence presented at the hearing indicates that there are separate reservoirs in the Mississippian with different driving mechanisms, and that one well drilled in each of the drilling and spacing units has not been capable of adequately draining the oil from all zones, and, therefore additional wells should be authorized to be drilled in certain drilling and spacing units.

ORDER

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that additional wells are hereby authorized to be drilled in the Brandon Field, Kiowa County, Colorado, in the drilling and spacing units and at the well locations described as follows:
