ORDER NO. 185-2

 

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

 

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission on December 14, 1965, at 10 a.m. in Room 132, State Services Building, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Amerada Petroleum Corporation for an order authorizing a second injection well for the Clarks Lake Muddy Sand Unit.

 

FINDINGS

 

The Commission finds as follows:

 

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law, and that all prerequisites to the granting of this order have been performed.

 

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

 

3.      That on February 16, 1965, the Commission issued its Order No. 185-1 in Cause No. 185, Clarks Lake Field, which, among other things, approved a secondary recovery program by injection of water into the Muddy Sand formation underlying the Clark Lake Muddy Sand Unit Area.

 

4.      That Applicant's plan for a second water injection well by use of the John M. Galvin No. 1 well located in the SEžSEžSWž of Section 15, Township 9 North, Range 68 West, 6th P.M., Larimer County, Colorado, will not adversely affect the correlative rights of any owner outside of the Unit, and will protect the correlative rights of the owners of interest within the Clarks Lake Muddy Sand Unit Area.

 

5.      That said second injection well should prevent migration of oil from said Unit Area; allow the orderly depletion of said Muddy sand reservoir, and increase the ultimate waste recovery of oil and gas from the Clarks Lake Muddy Sand Unit Area and prevent waste.

 

ORDER

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the operator of the Clarks Lake Muddy Sand Unit is hereby permitted and authorized to use as a second water injection well the John M. Galvin No. 1 well located in the SEžSEžSW/4 of Section 15, Township 9 North, Range 68 West, 6th P.M., Larimer County, Colorado.

 

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the provisions contained in the above order shall become effective forthwith.
