ORDER NO. 153-4

 

REPORT OF THE COMMISSION

 

This cause came on for hearing before the Commission November 21, 1967, at 10 a.m., in Conference room 260, Columbine Building, 1845 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado, after publication of Notice of Hearing as required by law, on the application of Texaco, Inc. for an order authorizing injection of water into the Sundance (Entrada) formation in the Danforth Hills Field for the purpose of disposing of water produced with oil from the Danforth Hills Field and the Temple Canyon Field and increasing oil recovery, utilizing Texaco's Gov't.-Treleaven No. 7 as the injection well.

 

FINDINGS

 

The Commission finds as follows:

 

1.      That due notice of the time, place and purpose of the hearing has been given in all respects as required by law.

 

2.      That the Commission has jurisdiction over the subject matter embraced in said Notice, and of the parties interested therein, and jurisdiction to promulgate the hereinafter prescribed order.

 

3.      That the Commission issued its Order No. 153-1, dated June 20, 1961, approving a project for injection of water into the Morrison formation of the Danforth Hills Field through the Texaco Gov't.-Treleaven Well. No. 3; and that on April 16, 1963, the Commission issued its Order No. 153-2 authorizing injection of water into the Sundance (Entrada) formation in the Texaco Gov’t.-Treleaven Well No. 3.

 

4.      That said Gov’t.-Treleaven Well No. 3 has been recompleted into the Dakota formation as a producing oil well.

 

5.      That testimony presented at the hearing indicates that injection of water into the Sundance (Entrada) formation in Texaco's Gov't.-Treleaven Well No. 7, located in the SE¼NW¼NE¼ of Section 31, Township 5 North, Range 95 West, Moffat County, Colorado, will serve to dispose of water produced with oil from the Danforth Hills Field and the Temple Canyon Field, and increase oil production in said formation.

 

6.      That in the interest of securing the greatest ultimate recovery of oil from the Danforth Hill s Field, and for the prevention of avoidable waste of oil and gas, the proposed project as presented by Applicant should be approved as being in the public interest for conservation.


 

ORDER

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that Texaco Inc. is hereby granted permission and authority to inject water into the Sundance (Entrada) formation in its Gov’t.-Treleaven Well No. 7, located in the SE¼NW¼NE¼ of Section 31, Township 5 North, Range 95 West, 6th P.M., Moffat County, Colorado in such quantities as shall be reasonably determined by the operator to best achieve the maximum recovery of oil without waste.

 

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the provisions of the above order shall become effective forthwith,
